The Sandlings Forest is a public forest. A place where you can go walking, running, cycling, bird-watching, dog-exercising, tree-spotting, camping, tracking, orienteering, horse riding, carriage driving . or, if you dare, look for UFOs... Or you can just wander at your leisure, sit and enjoy the natural surroundings. The Forestry Commission stage a varied programme of events in the Sandlings Forest. Information as to 'What's on' can be obtained from the Forest office and the Car Park Notice Boards in Rendlesham Forest.
The Forestry Commission also provide three leaflets providing details of the waymarked walks and cycle trails in the Forests :-
A programme of guided walks is organised by the "Stepping out in Suffolk" health walk leaders.
These short walks are suitable for adults and children of all ages and are arranged at regular intervals throughout the year. Click on the News page for information on changes in the facilities or news of imminent or most recent events in the forest. With the permission of the Forestry Commission, certain approved recreational clubs hold Husky racing, Orienteering, Motorcycling, Carriage Driving and Cycling events in the Sandlings Forest.
